During today’s last day of the Web 2.0 Expo I had the chance to talk to Vic Gundotra, VP Engineering of Google. Vic shows a prototype of its new mobile version of its Web-based e-mail service Gmail. The mobile Gmail application also featured a floating toolbar. The software relied on features in HTML 5.
Vic is responsible for open source programs at Google such as Android. He also manages applications development. Before he came to Google, Vic worked 15 years at Microsoft as General Manager of Microsoft’s developer outreach efforts.
